We’ve made it to summer 2020! The way this crazy year has been going that didn’t seem to be a given so go us! The pandemic, once seeming like it would last a few short weeks, is still going strong. The world has, for the most part, shut their borders to Americans because our rates of Covid-19 are soaring out of control… mostly because a lot of US citizens seem to be unwilling to wear face masks or social distance, or follow guidelines that the World Health Organization and leading scientists everywhere have laid out because… ‘Merica. Sigh. So in we remain. You had you last day of Zoom School and we did a drive-by at your school to wave goodbye to your teachers from afar and pick up your very first yearbook… ADORBS! I am hopeful that you’ll be able to attend actual school at some point in the fall but for now, we are hermit-ing hard at home. This month Daddy built you a swing set in the lower yard which you LOVE. You squeal with glee every swing and that never gets old. I’ve ordered all manner of craft kit, glitter glue and construction paper to try to fill your days with art and creativity. We’ve made masks, created paper flowers, baked and cooked. We’ve created pine cone bird feeders, walked the hills around our house, danced, sang and tried to do all we can to keep your brilliant mind as occupied as we can. Grayson & auntie Sarah came to town and we did a social distance visit in a park. You were SO happy to have someone your size to play with, even from a distance. You are REALLY needing interaction with other littles, so it did my heart good to hear and see your joy at visiting with him, if only for 1 hour on a little patch of grass. This month we celebrated Father’s day and both your Grammy’s have been coming to watch you while mom & dad work from home. Even though we’ve been home, it’s still gone by so fast. As crazy as the circumstance is, I’m glad that I’m able to be home to spend all this time with you. You are SUCH a sweet little soul and watching your change and bloom into yourself more and more each day is priceless. Happy Summer baby girl and here’s to hoping Covid goes away soon and next June finds us on some faraway tropical vacation!
