This month has been all about your smiles... you've started smiling for real! (not just for gas) I sing to you every morning, and for the first time you've started smiling back at me in response. That first little smile, with you looking me in the eye, took my breath away. I wish I could bottle the feeling and keep it with me for emergencies. In other news, the time/space continuum is STILL officially turned on it's head... you're still pretty nocturnal, and so far we are just going with your flow. People tell me it will be time to put you on a schedule soon, but for now, this is working for "us" (by "us" I mean you ;0). I'm SO very glad I get to spend this time with you uninterrupted. I have to go back to work in 2 months, and am already heartbroken at the thought of spending our days apart. I find myself bent over you with my camera trying to capture each moment so I don't forget anything. I know it's inevitable as time stretches on, but each day you grow, plump and evolve and it's all going so fast and the pictures are sweet reminders of this magical time. Your cheeks seem like they weigh something now, and each night at bath time, I have to remember to reach into the many folds of your neck to make sure they are nice and clean. ;) You had your first Halloween (a BIG deal to us, your family) and you weren't really digging dressing up on Halloween night. You rebelled against your headband, kicked off your shoe, and showed me who is boss. The next day you played nice tho, and I was able to dress you up in the adorable dress your grandma Connie made you and shoot some photos. You are a fascinating little creature who I call "squeak" because of all the little squeaky sounds you make. Dad hates the name, but it's who you are to me squeak! We've spend many afternoons walking around the park since you still can't really be out and about yet, and you've spent much time riding in a sling on the front of me while I putter around the house. Dad thinks I'm spoiling you with all the holding, but you're so new and sweet I can't help myself! Now here we are, already at the end of your second month on earth... it looks like you've doubled in size, your sweet curls are growing long and those cheeks! Slow down time! (seriously)
