The summer of your 3rd year was a good one my dear. It was full of friends, play, beaches, pools and even a road trip! We celebrated father’s day on a beach in Laguna that you absolutely loved, you flew a kite solo for the first time on the beach in Playa Del Rey and you had kiki’s with Grayson, and your friends Elle & Eva on your “favorite” beach in Santa Monica called Temescal Canyon beach. It’s safe to say you love the sea, the sand and the surf and I am so glad we live close enough to give your frequent access to this thing that brings you such joy. It was HOT this summer and we broke down and got a huge rainbow “splash pad” for the yard (like a waterbed/slip & slide combo) to replace last year’s unicorn sprinkler. You spent hours splashing around and living your best life which always makes mamma smile. You had fun playing soccer this year at the triangle park near our house, and had so many playdates I lost track. You are definitely a social butterfly… sometimes it’s hard to keep up with your appetite for play, but mamma tries! On a bittersweet note, you had your last day at Play Group this summer because you will be starting your new school in the fall. I’m do glad your first “school” was that one because it is a sweet little place that you grew to love. They were so sad to see you go, but know you will do great at your new school & beyond. You are obsessed with Netflix movie Vivo and watch it on a tight loop. It even inspired you to declare that you want to be a singer when you grow up (like one of the characters Marta Sandoval) so I scrounged around your dress up box and my past costumes to recreate her style. “I look just like her!” = mission accomplished. This summer, we went on your first road trip! We met Miss Anastasia, Ondine & Kai in Pismo Beach and you absolutely LOVE hotel life. You, Ondine & Kai had a blast making pillow forts, exploring the tide pools near the hotel and just playing from sun up to sun down. It warms my heart to build memories like this with you. You are a very good traveler! This summer, Daddy also commissioned the fanciest princess gown I’ve ever seen for you and you were absolutely thrilled with the result. I am in awe of the experiences your life is sure to hold because you are starting out on SUCH a good foot. The pandemic rages on, mamma is still working from home and the year has been a blur still, summer 2021 was busy and delightful!
