Happy New Year baby girl! You arrived in 2022 with fresh immunity to Covid for 90 days! While it was sad to see you sick, there is relief that you had a cushion of protection from the virus, at least for a bit so Happy New Year indeed. This winter was busy. You played LOTS with your friends, saw your first movie in a theatre (Sing 2, which you loved) had your first Benihana experience and learned first hand what it means to have Surgery. Your sinuses were 95% blocked, and you have a quarter-sized umbilical hernia so we decided to do them at the same time so you only had to be put under anesthesia once. Your friend Matilda gave you a book about what to expect at the hospital, and you were excited to have a popsicle for breakfast the morning of. Once we checked in, you were happily pointing out all the things that were like the book she got you said they would be. Fancy blue gown & fuzzy socks? check. Metal bed that goes up & down with handrails? check. Machines that beep & bloop? Check. Add in the free toy you got to pick from a cart the hospital wheeled around to little patients and you were on cloud 9. All that happy excitement changed the moment they started to wheel you away from Mommy & Daddy to the O.R. though and the tears really started. Mommy cried too! When surgery was over, we rushed to the recovery room and when you woke up you were NOT a happy camper and in a lot of pain. We brought you straight home to rest and heal which you did beautifully. Such a brave girl. It was a hard thing to go through, but you’re so much better off now! Winter 2022 flew by, but you came out on the other size healthier and ready for anything!
